Dubai Tram Timings
The RTA sets the Dubai tram timings and they are as follows:
Monday to Saturday
The tram runs from 6.00am until 1.00am the following day
Sunday
The tram starts running slightly later on a Sunday from 9am until 1.00am (Monday)
The trams run around every 8-10 minutes so if you miss one you won’t have to wait too long for another one to come along. There are LED screens int he tram stations that tell you when the next trams will come into the station so it is easy to know when the next tram is due.
Occasionally the timings of the trams may change due to public holidays – particularly at new year they will usually run overnight from 31st December to 1st January to give everyone a chance to get home from the new year’s celebrations.
The timings can also change for Ramadan but that is not always the case and recently the timings have remained the same as normal.
The Dubai Marina station has 2 platforms so you just need to make sure that you go to the correct platform as to which direction you are travelling, whether that is towards Al Sufouh or back around towards JBR.
The trams ring their bells when they are coming into and going out of the stations to alert people who may be crossing the tracks to go into the covered platforms. They also alert road users where the tracks may cross the roads.
As the trams are driven (as opposed to the driverless metro trains) they are more subject to the vagaries of people and traffic on the roads and the trams also have to wait for a clear signal on the roads before they can go ahead. However, the system is pretty well run and there are not often hold ups on the tram.
The timings of the tram are sometimes updated and we will endeavour to keep you up to date with any changes as they happen.
