Dubai Tram Map

With Dubai Tram opening in November 2014, the first phase of the project covered 11 stations. The detailed RTA route map is shown further down below but here is a simplified version of the Dubai Tram map so that you can easily see the Dubai Tram stations that are operational and the directions that the trams will travel around the system.

Dubai Tram Route and Station Map

As of now there is just one route as shown below with 11 stations. There is one circular route that runs from Al Sufouh, round to JBR after passing through Dubai Marina and then back around past JLT and the Marina to end up back at Al Sufouh. There have been plans for a number of years to extend the tram but this has still not happened. It only takes a few minutes to get to each station.

Dubai Tram Map 2023

The tram goes in one direction around the JBR area, as the small loop route was discontinued due to under use a while ago.

So, for example, if you want to get from Dubai Marina Mall to JBR then you need to change at Dubai Marina.

When you catch the tram from the Al Sufouh end the signs may say that the tram goes to Jumeirah Lakes Towers, but it does not just stop there, it keeps going on around the whole route and returns to Al Sufouh.

The Dubai Tram route means that the trams themselves can travel in a complete loop from the Al Sufouh depot and back again so if you stay on them that is where you will end up!

As you can see from the Dubai Tram map, you can interchange with the Dubai Metro at Dubai Marina (for Sobha Realty station) and Jumeirah Lakes Towers (for DMCC station) and also with the Palm Monorail at Palm Jumeirah station. There is a short walk that also involves a lift to get from the tram to the metro/monorail.

Al Sufouh Tram Route Map

Above is the RTA route map for the Dubai Tram project. As you can see the tramway runs through Jumeirah Beach Residence for about one kilometre and has two stations in that area.

Location of the Route

The route goes from Al Sufouh and heads up to the elevated section that runs along the Sheikh Zayed Road side of the Dubai Marina section. The tram route here is an add on to the road that runs along the back of the marina and there are 3 stations along this part of the route. Two of those stations link up with the Dubai Metro at the Dubai Marina station and the Jumeirah Lake Towers station.

There are 6 further stations that run from the marina along Al Sufouh Road just past Knowledge Village and this is where the first phase of the Al Sufouh Tram route stops. There is then a depot in Al Sufouh. Station 9 links up with the Palm Monorail at the foot of the Palm Jumeirah. This is  good news for the Palm Monorail particularly as it may mean that more people are able to commute using public transport from the Palm (although the price of Palm Monorail tickets will likely have to come down at this point to make it feasible as a commuting option and this doesn’t seem likely to happen at any time in the near future).

Phase two of the Dubai Tram will also link up with the Dubai Metro station at Mall of the Emirates but there is no information currently as to when this will happen.

Hi I will be using team for the first time. From Dubai Burman centre any tram connections? If am parking my car at burjuman and return to the same point….what do you suggest tram and metro

    • admin

I guess it depends on where you want to go! You can get the Metro from Burjuman and then change at the marina to get the tram to wherever you are heading to.

    Hi

If I have to go to Marina Towers (Station 6) from Dubai Marina (Station 5) (via tram), do I have to take the entire route of JBR since the it is one route along that loop?

I want to go to atlantis. Can you please guide me how to reach the place by the way i live in deira. Aside from that any good place to visit that can be accesible by tram.

    Thanks

    • admin

To get to Atlantis you will need to get to the Palm Jumeirah tram stop and change to the monorail from there. Perhaps check trip advisor for advice on places to visit.

I’m from al rigga Deira and I need to go to Atlantis Hotel and need to travel by Tram, which station should I go and stop?

    Thanks!!!

    • admin

You can’t get to Atlantis by tram so you will need to go to the Palm Jumeirah tram station and change there for the palm monorail.

Hello there! Can you tell me how trams vehicles there are in the fleet? And how many are in operation at any one time? And how long I would expect to be waiting at any particular station before a tram arrives?
    Thanks a lot
    Chris

Hi, I believe there are 11 trams in the fleet but I can’t tell you how many are operating at any one time. Trams operate at approximately every 8 minutes.

    Hello,
Please tell me how to get to Knowledge Village from Rashidiya Station. I have an exam at AMIDEAST, Block 2B, Al Borouj Road, Al Sofouh, Knowledge Village.
At which station should I change and take the tram to Knowledge Village?
    Thank you for your help.
    Najib

Hi and sorry for the delay in replying, for some reason I did not get notification of your comment. Anyway, to get to Knowledge Village from Rashidiya you should take the metro to internet City metro station and then you can walk through to knowledge Village. You could go to the marina and change to the tram and then take the tram to Knowledge Village which would get you closer but take longer.

The tram will only take you as far as the entry to the Palm and then you will likely have to get a taxi from there (unless they run a bus service to and from the hotel)

Hi, I am local from Dubai and I am using the Metro and Tram everyday on my way to BBR,
the problem i am facing is that there is not enough tramp station and why we have to change the station to station ? Why the tram is not going in one line, it’s not convenience, many tourists and passengers are lost, also its very slow , I think I should be faster , I hope it will change and it will be more easy

  • Said

HI admin, I am at Knowledge Village Dubai, if I want to catch a metro instead of walking all the way from where I am to Internet City Metro station, can I take tram from Knowledge Village station, drop at Marina Tram station, take a red line Metro to continue with my trip, is it worth, roughly what’s the cost.
    Thanks.

    • admin

Yes there is no reason why you can’t do that – as it is all in the same zone it should only cost 3 dirhams with a silver Nol card.

I have a guest from Bahrain to visit UAE. I would like to travel Dubai Tram through Dubai Metro and to visit Atlantis to introduce them the features of Tram, Metro & Dubai.
Kindly provide the easy way to follow.

    • admin

Hi, if you take the Metro to the Marina and then change on to the Tram there, then take the Tram to the Palm Gateway and get the Monorail to Atlantis from there.

    Hi,

I was looking at your map and I’m not sure whether the arrows are all going the correct way. I stay near that Marina Towers station and have taken the tram only twice. Both times, I have travelled to JBR and both times, the route the tram has taken has been via 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 (in that sequence). On your map, the sequence is going the other way?

Happy to be corrected if I’m wrong but I’m not sure I can get to JBR (station 1) from Marina Towers?

  • Andreas

    Thanks.

If I want to go to the Marina Walk, is it easier to get there from the Tram Station?

Our hotel is the One & Only Mrage Arabian Court. When i want to go to the tram station Media Center I hve to cross

    • admin

Yes they are and I have used those two stations with a pushchair (obviously not quite the same) – the only issue is at Marina Mall if you want to go to the Mall itself, where you have to pretty much walk/wheel along the car upramp and negotiate a couple of kerbs if I remember rightly to get to the Mall Entrance. Also it does rely upon the lifts working too.

    • admin

The Marina Towers station is the nearest to the Torch building I would say, I think it would only be a short walk from there.

    • admin

I don’t know, you will need to contact the RTA, I see no reason why they wouldn’t have them though, although I would expect Emiratis to take preference.
